Introduction to Sustainability

This webinar is aimed at Board Members and Governance professionals to give them a foundational understanding of what sustainability is and how it aligns with the core purpose of the social housing sector. It will introduce the international framework, core principles and specific themes such as climate change before considering the different strategic perspectives and governance tools to address sustainability. This webinar aims to encourage informed board level discourse on the key challenge of our generation.

 

This webinar is delivered by Matthew Greaves.  Matt is a Chartered Environmentalist with over 24 years of relevant experience. He has held senior leadership posts at a large social housing provider with responsibility for sustainability, building safety and safety.  He has developed and implemented strategies, managed strategic risks, provided assurance to Executive Teams and Boards and driven tangible performance improvements across complex areas.  He has technical specialisms across environmental management, carbon management, sustainability, climate change, safety, property compliance and building safety. Matt was recognised on the 2020 Homes UK Climate Champion Power List.  Consultancy clients, outside of the housing sector, have included the British Army, various UK Government Departments, the Sustainable Development Commission, Vodafone, British Council, AMEC plc, Siemens, and Heathrow Airport.
