Practical Effective Minute Taking

Would you like to become a more effective minute taker? 

The Board Development Agency provide training and mentoring, specific for the housing sector, for new staff or those that have been doing their role for some time and would like to brush up on their knowledge. We will help you learn more about the responsibilities of taking minutes and the key things you need to know.

This program will cover:

  • The importance of good quality minutes
  • What should be included, and what not!
  • Template and minute writing conventions. What challenges does this bring you?
  • Skill needed for good note taking, preparation, listening, how you take notes
  • Turning notes into effective minutes, readability
  • Recording discussions and decisions
  • Checking for accuracy
  • Tips and hints
  • The importance of post meeting tasks
  • Identification of personal area for development

A certificate of attendance will be emailed on completion.

Details

The training is equivalent to a half-day session, held online over two 2-hour sessions which will be recorded and hosted on the BDA website so you can view again. This training costs £250 +VAT. An additional 2 hours of support can be provided for £100 +VAT. This will involve review of minutes, support and feedback on notes and minute taking.
