October 2023 – This company secretary training is meant to assist you in understanding the extent of the role of a housing association company secretary so that you can be sure you are fully informed and in compliance with your legal obligations. It outlines specifically what must be done to comply with the Companies Act, the company articles, and other regulations as it guides you through each step of the role step by step.

Being a minute taker is hard, you are responsible for recording relevant notes during meetings and then producing a final copy to share, along with all the follow up work so you are prepared for the next meeting. This course will familiarise you with the minute taking process.

Introduction to Budgets and Management Information for Board Members

1.5 hour training will provide Board Members with an introduction to Budgets and Management information. Maintaining a social landlord’s financial viability is a critical part of a board member’s role now and therefore understanding budgets and financial information is something all board members will be expected to do. Regulators expect boards to manage their organisation’s finances, as well as getting the best value out of the business. This session will look at the key aspects of financial budgets and the role of the board in monitoring the financial information that is presented to them regularly.
