About the session

The Sector Risk Profile puts health and safety at the top of the agenda, where it should be. Is this reflected in your Board? Does your Board understand its responsibilities? How to get assurance from the Executives and how to lead from the top on this vital subject? If you or your Board are unsure on any of these areas then this course if for you.

With the Regulator stating that Boards are ultimately responsible for ensuring the health and safety of their tenants and staff, and that they must have appropriate controls in place to ensure compliance with all their health and safety responsibilities. The Board Development Agency has designed a one-hour session that will cover everything you need to know about your Health and Safety responsibilities as a Board Member.  Our interactive session will cover:

  1. How do you gain assurance on Health and Safety                                                                                    We will explore how you gain assurance that the key health and safety risks are being effectively managed. We will look at the three lines of defense and the Board and the Executive team’s role in receiving assurance.  We will look at practical ways in which you challenge health and safety concerns and we will look at how you can develop and monitor effective health and safety performance metrics. We’ll also reflect on the relationship between safety, compliance and assurance.
