Menopause affects a significant proportion of the workforce and can have a considerable impact on health, well-being, confidence, and performance at work. Under the Employment Rights Act 2025, from April 2026 employers with 250 or more employees have been encouraged to publish voluntary Equality Action Plans, including actions to support employees experiencing menopause; this requirement is due to become mandatory from 2027.
The benefit of effective menopause policies and awareness helps providers meet their legal obligations, reduce stigma, improve staff wellbeing and retain experienced employees who may otherwise leave the workforce due to unmanaged symptoms.
For Boards, understanding menopause is key to supporting a workplace culture that supports employee performance; this session is designed to provide practical insights and tools that Boards can use to support employees, review workplace practices, and strengthen their organisation’s commitment to inclusion and wellbeing.
