Chairs and Board members Round table

Since last year’s Round Table, there has been another change of Prime Minister, but has there been any significant change for social housing providers?
There may have been a cultural shift in government thinking, with a huge funding boost and a new focus on Council housing and true ‘social’ housing. However, for those managing stock, the regulatory burden has not lessened, with Awaab’s Law Phase 2 and the Competence and Conduct Standard now in effect and increasing requirements.
Our Director, Dr Alice Pearce, and Bill Gill, who has over 30 years of experience in social housing audit, assurance, risk, and governance, will lead the session. They will facilitate a discussion, giving Chairs and Board Members of providers across England, Scotland and Wales the opportunity to discuss the challenges and share their experiences.

What you will learn

  • Awaab’s Law Phase two: how are you preparing for the increased number of hazards being covered and how have your teams handled the increased communications required?
  • Professional standards and workforce competence: the professional competence standard in England has come into force, but how are providers meeting the timescales?
  • AI governance: AI is rarely out of the news at the moment, but is your association using AI positively, and are you seeing any improvements in service?
