Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) – Part 2 – Practical details

Welcome to our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion webinar series for UK-registered social housing providers. EDI has always been important to the sector. The new consumer regulations are also putting it high on the regulator’s agenda.  These concepts have become critical for service providers and employers alike, and getting these principles right can help your organisation maximise service-user, stakeholder, and employee satisfaction. If you get them wrong, you may be in breach of your legal duties and responsibilities, leading to discrimination complaints.

The session will help Board Members address the requirements of the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED)  as relevant to Housing Associations.  Practical examples of actionable steps to fulfill PSED objectives will be provided.

What you will learn

PSED Practical Guidance: Learn about the complexities of the Public Sector Equality Duty, as well as actionable steps and best practices.  It will ensure that your organisation is not only compliant but also actively contributing to an equality and diversity culture.

Legal Compliance: Learn about the potential consequences of not adhering to EDI principles, as well as how doing so is more than just a best practice; it is a legal requirement.

Regulatory Insight: We will also consider the Codes of Governance, the Regulator’s requirements, and changes coming with the review of consumer regulations in England. The new consumer regulations are set to highlight about the importance of culture, integrity, equality, and diversity. We will explore the nuances of equality and diversity in the context of Housing Associations in England, Scotland, and Wales to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the regional landscape.

This session is suitable for all Board members.
