2024 – The housing challenges ahead

In 2024, the UK social housing industry is set for a transformation with the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, which empowers the Regulator (RSH) for more stringent oversight, extending to proactive assessments of landlords failing to meet standards. Landlords must report on the RSH’s Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSM) and updated consumer standards, with a submission deadline of June 30, 2024, for providers with over 1,000 homes. Additionally, registered building control approvers and high-rise developers face registration deadlines by April 6, 2024.
